    1b. Seminar + test

Asking for a friend (seriously, I am a NA and have passed FA exam).

What are the seminars/tests indicated ?

Seminar/test usually increase your knowledge. In this case we require less evidence based on your experience.

Let me rephrase - Are you referring to the FA Seminar and Exam, or a CFC seminar/test ?

For NA title, we refer to NA seminar.

Does FQÉ rated games counts for the 20 games limit as a player ? All FQÉ Local Arbiters must have en established FQÉ Regular rating, which requires 24 games, so all should qualify under this criteria.

Is there a list of topics for the NA seminar, so that I can compare to the FQÉ seminar and determined what is missing.

Pierre, I am not aware of any 20 game limit as a player. If you are referring to part 2b of the policy, this requires at least 20 tournaments as an arbiter, organizer or player.

    Thanks, I missed something here.

Our local arbiters are beginners, so we do not ask them for tournaments as an arbiter, just for an established rating, which, with most tournament having 5 rounds, will take them 5 tournaments to achieve unless they have unplayed rounds. As I have often stated at the beginning of LTD lectures, "the purpose of arbiters' training is not to teach what you should already know because you are a competitive chess player".

For the next level, they will need tournaments as an arbiter and evaluation as a Deputy Chief Arbiter acting as a Pairing Officer in a Swiss Tournament paired with a computer. The two most important skills being: the ability to pair with a computer and the ability to explain pairings to the players. Another skill is to produce rating reports for rating by the CFC, FQE and FIDE.
