Another too busy personal chess weekend for me.......

In Metz, Leon Piasetski score 0.5 in his final two games finishing with 4/9 and will gain a few rating points for his effort there. Yuri Solodovnichenko having perhaps a tournament of his lifetime scored a P.R. of 2782 and finished 1.5 pts ahead of the rest of the field with 7.5

After 5 rounds at the Bosna Open, Croatian GM Ivan Saric has the lead with 5-0. He is just one half point ahead of the top two seeds Baadur Jobava and Arkdadij Naiditsch. Saric is black against Jobava today.

Jockeying continues in Iran, as finishing in the top 4 is of utmost importance at the Asian continental. Yu Yangyi hold down 1st with 5.5 and today plays Moradiabadi (IRI). Others with 5 include Sasikiran, Harikrisna, and Bu. Wesley So has scrambled back and has 4.5, playing Bu today.

Boris Gelfand and Gata Kamsky advance to the semi-finals of the Canadidates matches. All games were drawn yesterday. Veselin Topalov had great winning chances in his game with Kamsky, but just wasn't quite able to put the nail in the coffin and he's done with this cycle. Shak Mamedyarov drew yesterday with Gelfand and was also eliminated. So today we'll be treated with some live rapid games to decide the other two semi-finalists.
