We are testing a mobile version of the CFC website.

Try m.chess.ca

All of the graphics are removed and the format of the screen is resized to fit the width of the phone.

Welcome comments, including your phone type.

This works well on my Motorola Atrix, although I was able to navigate around the site pretty well with the non-mobile version (chess.ca).

I'll try it later.

Assuming it works out can it be made to automatically send mobile users to that site?

Also, there's a minor link issue when you click through to view someone's FIDE profile, it goes to a search by membernumber rather than directly to their page. In some cases this will bring up two people in the search result.

Yes. It will automatically go to the mobile site, although I wouldn't mind an option to stay on the full site.

I noticed that already, I'd say the FIDE thing is a minor inconvenience, I think it might be the mechanism of the FIDE site search.

That it is a "bug" on the chess.ca side.

Compare two links:

from chess.ca http://ratings.fide.com/seek.phtml?idcode=2609738&name=&offset=0
vs
http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?event=2609738
or this http://ratings.fide.com/id.phtml?event=2609738

Most "decent" sites default to mobile and then have a link (which sometimes even works!) to go to the full site.

As Egis pointed out, the link to FIDE just needs a minor tweak and then it will work perfectly.

I see now. I'll try to get this fixed up, ASAP.

On a normal website http://chess.ca/players

Please change "Check Your Rating" to "Check Player's Rating".

This has been 'fixed' as you've suggested.
