The CFC Regular Chess Post – Feb. 21/12 – 3rd Jerry Hanken FIDE Open.
Canadians did well at this recent USA tournament this past weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In the Open Section ( 48 players, with 7 others above 2000 ), Can. IM Eric Hansen, of Alberta, placed first with 8 straight wins in 8 rounds ( commonly referred to as a “ picket fence “ ). In second was WCM Alexandra Botez, connected to BC, with 6/8 pts. ( 5 wins;1 draw; 1 loss; 1 bye ). Thx to Andrei Botez for drawing it to our attention.
