INTERNATIONAL SECTION
9 Round Swiss, CFC/FIDE rated
CFC membership required, can be purchased at site. Must be paid prior to start of round 1
IM norms will be possible
Limit of 24 players
Minimum CFC/FIDE rating of 2200. All players must have a FIDE rating
Preference will be given to Alberta players. There will be a limited number of spots available to players outside of Alberta
Advanced registrations will be announced soon!
Time control: Game in 90 for first 40 moves, 30 minutes for the rest of game, 30 second increment added to each move starting from move 1
Top 3 boards will be broadcast live on the internet
There will also be a reserve section which will be CFC/FIDE rated
Other details will be made available by Friday on the ACA website (http://www.albertachess.org).
As there are only a few norm events held in Canada each year, this is an excellent opportunity to score that illusive IM norm or title.
