I received the following bid for the 2024 Canadian Seniors Championship from the Calgary Chess Club's president Zeeshan Munir. It is an only bid, and the Calgary chess community has a very good track record especially recently with many high profile events. We will likely confer with them and work out some details but unless there is some developments, this looks like the venue for the Seniors this year. The letter:

    Hi Vlad,

I hope you are doing well. Calgary Chess Club would like to host this year's Canadian Seniors Championship 2024 ( Open and over 65) and Canadian women. We at our club can easily accommodate up to 50 participants.

The proposed dates are August 3rd, 2024 to August 5th. ( 3-day 6 games Swiss tournament).

Based on our assumption of approximately 30 participants with $100 as an entry fee CCC would be committing to the prize fund to the minimum of $2000 for all three sections as per the following.

    Over50
    Over 65
    Closed Women
    1st
    500
    300
    400
    1200
    2nd
    250
    200
    250
    700
    3rd
    100

    100
    850
    500
    650

CCC will be collecting an entry fee of $100 as an early bird and $120 as a regular Fee.

CCC will provide light snacks and drinks to the participants.

Please let us know if you have questions or need any further information.

    Thanks

    Zeeshan C Munir
    President CCC
